Whew,

The boys from the Point were lookin’ for their mamas last night after the thrashing by the “pros” from Latin.

We can’t find much right to talk about other than how good that Latin team looked. Their quarterback, and wide receivers were as in-sync as Montana and Rice. They will do well in college.

As suspected, the defense, as hard hitting as they are, just couldn’t guard the speedier players from the private school in Charlotte. Coach Devine had to be scratching his head, wondering what hit them — multiple times.

It makes us wonder how the Red Raiders will hold up to the onslaught that AJ Blue and Princeton Brooks, who the Gazette describe as, “… off limits [for interviews] until next week…”. If Latin with two college-level candidates can pick apart the Red Raider secondary, what will they do with a couple of players who feel that they have something big time to prove?

The Gazette sportswriter, Phillip Gardner, had a lot to say in his blog, “Through the Uprights” — not bad.

The real highlights of the evening were the brillant performance of the South Point Band and their Jazz program, and the announcement that Emri Moore had been selected by her peers as this year’s homecoming queen.

Congratulations to South Point once again for packing the stadium. Red Raider fans are great — even without Megaphone Man !
